Cargo Blues Band
Smokin Sam & Cargo Blues Band are an Australian blues band based in Melbourne Victoria- - that plays Chicago blues & Blues roots influenced by American & British music.
The band Comprises of an Italian born front man/singer/harmonica player Smokin Sam Salzone, our solid bassist Delta Chris who has played in many blues outfits in Melbourne and was one of the founding members of the now very popular Synergy Blue which Smokin Sam is still the front man of, and we have two guitarists, seasoned guitarist Ken Hatton who has played with many local rock bands in the 70’s and later many top Australian blues performers, second guitarist Justin Yap an up and coming guitarist you started making his mark after being discovered at MBAS youth in Blues program, on drums Rocky who, keeps the beat together and is our bread & butter also playing in many local bands and is currently seen at the Sleepy Hollow Blues Club & MBAS.
The majority of our the bands repertoire is a mix of original and blues covers material from the great, Peter Green Fleetwood Mac, J.L Hooker, Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, Junior Wells to name a few and although we mix it up quite a bit stylistically, we never stray TOO far away from the vintage R&B, R&R, blues and soul music that are the closest to our hearts.
What we're are a "blues/rock/funk band" we ARE a good-rockin' smokin” party band obsessed with the sounds of 40s, 50s & 60s.& todays Blues music, We regularly play festivals, pubs, private functions and clubs all over regional victoria & Australian wide. Smokin Sam has toured Indonesia playing clubs and bars and restaurants which was ably backed by local Bali bands.
